Mike Dillard just sent me the following story about a network marketing success. In these days of economic whining, I thought I would share. I can tell you from my own experience that when someone asks you "Are you making any money at it?", Mike's training gave me the answers I needed to respond with leadership. "At the end of October 2008, I found myself waking in the middle of the night with a weight on my chest and tension in my shoulders that I had never experienced before.
I have had an incredibly blessed life, and although the recent years had been very tough, with a divorce and watching my real estate business go down the drain, I continued to remain positive and focus on the basics.
I had bought a new house, met an amazing woman and had a little boy. Over the past two years, we’ve watched our home’s value drop over $100,000 and all of our savings diminish very slowly. I was waking in the middle of the night because for the first time in my life, I was completely drowning.
I felt like a total failure.
I knew I needed to make a change. I had practiced, trained and taught Kundalini Yoga and Meditation in the early-mid 90’s, and in those days I completely transformed my life using these techniques. It was time to dig in and commit to the process.
I pulled out one of my “abundance” meditations and began to meditate. I became overwhelmed with emotion and cried like a baby, as I realized that I had abandoned my practice over the last decade of my life and felt like I was reunited with a long lost friend.
I woke up the next morning and began to restructure. The message was crystal clear, and it was time to build my business from a place of service. My friend had sent me an email about a company she was launching. I researched the founders and saw that her partner was hosting an “Abundance Game” about 40 miles away. This was too much of a coincidence.
My fiancé and I hired a babysitter and surrendered our very precious “date night” to go and play a game with strangers. What has ensued has been one of the most interesting pivot points in my life (and I’ve had some great ones). A light bulb went off and I realized that I needed to learn about online marketing.
I set out to find an online system. My first purchase was Magnetic Sponsoring and the Inner Circle Newsletter and they totally made sense.
My business partner and I had built our real estate business by knocking on doors and giving out free reports about the neighborhood, sharing information and positioning ourselves as the neighborhood experts.
We would visit the neighbors consistently, sharing updates and inviting everyone to open houses whenever we listed their neighbor’s homes. Overtime, we got to know everyone and everyone came to us for the latest in real estate information.
We formed relationships based on knowledge, familiarity, like and trust. In six short months, we took the market share from someone who had been dominating it for 15 years! Here you were talking about the same thing with direct selling and these home based businesses.
With the real estate market getting killed and me still being on the wheel of trading time for dollars, I knew it was time to build a residual business. I worked all day at my day job and I would work at night often until 4am working on my internet business. My first month was pretty grim: 1 lead and 0 sales.
My fiancé was concerned because I wouldn’t sleep in our room. I would sleep in the front room because I didn’t want to disturb her or the baby when I would finally go to bed.
Her mom came and visited and they would ask me how it was going and I would tell them that I was learning so much and then they would ask me the dreaded question, “Are you making any money at it?” or “You sure are spending a lot of time with this thing, are you sure this is what you should be doing?”.
With mounting pressures of finances, I know they were trying to be supportive, but reality has a different affect on different people. But I was focused and determined, and between you and me, I had already mentally committed myself to make this thing work, no excuses!
I kept thinking of Chinese Bamboo-you plant the seedling and water and tend to it and after 1 year-nothing. After 2 years, nothing! Three years, nada. And then most people quit. 4 years, still nothing. And then, year 5 it shoots up 90 feet in 30 days!
I wasn’t going to be like most people that think they are going to make it in this industry in 90 days and then when they don’t, they quit. You taught me that I needed to learn, you showed us your library, and I took that very seriously.
I have been reading, and reading, and reading, and then doing, and doing, and doing. It is like learning how to drive a car.
At first it was “put on the seat belt, put the key in the ignition, check the mirror, etc”. Now when I drive, I just do it all “naturally” and can think ahead about other things.
Despite that fact, I had only produced 3 leads my 2nd month.
Then I started PPC advertising and everything changed.
In one day, I produced 5 leads.
That still wasn't a lot, but considering that I'd only generated 3 leads in the previsous 60 days, things were changing!
I quickly saw that it was fun to get the results, but this wasn’t profitable, so I tweaked my ads and managed to cut my costs in half the first week.
I then had a 7 lead day, then a 10 lead day, for half the price!
That's when I ordered your "PPC Domination" course and that took me to a different level.
Thanks to that information, I was consistently breaking 15 leads a day and my expenses were about 30% of what they originally were.
Now that number just continues to increase on a daily basis...

The next day, I got on the phone with a guy who was in his business for 6 months and hadn’t sponsored anyone, and his sponsor was in for 6 months prior and hadn’t either (except for the guy I was talking too.) I sent him your 60 minute video and link to Black Belt Recruiting.
He told me that I gave him more information and provided more leadership to him than anyone in his upline and his entire company!
Naturally, he wants to work with me now and join our team.
